iExpress Resume Workshop & Mock Interviews

Learn what to include in your resume and how to make it stand out, right from the recruiters who will be reading it. You will get the opportunity to sit down one-on-one with recruiters from various reputable firms and have them review your resume. A presentation on the do's and don'ts of an interview will also be held to show you what recruiters will be looking for in a job interview. In addition, you will have the chance to sit down in a one-on-one setting to practice your interviewing skills with recruiters. We would strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to better equip yourself for recruiting while also networking with your potential employers. The below are the details of the event:

This year's Career Day will give students of Junior standing the ability to visit each firm for one hour all in one day. This event will include a continental breakfast, lunch, and free parking. To make the day as varied and informative as possible, each firm has selected a topic to discuss that is relevant to the accounting profession (with a specific emphasis on preparation & recruitment). The topics are as follows:
- Resume Building (presented by Deloitte)
- Difference between Audit, Tax, & Advisory (presented by Ernst & Young)
- Interviewing Skills (presented by KPMG)
- Leadership & Networking (presented by Moss Adams)
- Business Etiquette (presented by PricewaterhouseCoopers)

KPMG PB & J Wars

KPMG is hosting the first service event of spring quarter on April 1st after the BAP meeting. Meet in the Balmer Commons and come have a friendly competition to make the most PB&J sandwiches for the University Food Bank. The event will begin 30 minutes after the meeting and last for about an hour. You are welcome to stay after the event to speak to the KPMG professionals in attendance.
There is a limited amount of space for this event and it is extremely popular. Only the first 40 people are guaranteed a spot. Please sign up by emailing bapservice@gmail.com.

BDO Pathway to Success

BDO is pleased to announce their fourth annual Pathway to Success summer leadership program, designed for college students who want to learn more about what it’s really like to work in the public accounting field.
Requirements:
1. Current or expected accounting major
2. Sophomore or junior status as of August 2010
3. Personally and academically motivated
4. Continuously distinguished in the classroom, on campus and in the community
5. Available for travel to Chicago, IL 6/27/2010-7/1/2010
If you wish to apply, submit the following items in a single email to PathwayToSuccess@bdo.com by April 16, 2010:
- Cover letter which addresses the following:
o What you would get out of Pathway to Success
o Why you are interested in a career in public accounting
o Your career goals
- Updated résumé
- Unofficial transcript
- Letter of recommendation from a faculty member
- Second letter of recommendation (Can be from a previous employer, a second professor, a community leader, etc.)
